Jamaican content creator Hauto has made his film-making debut with Rivalry, according to an October 30 Jamaica Observer interview. The newspaper reports that its first instalment was released on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
The crime drama follows competing gangs in Kingston. Its cast includes online personalities Swiiss Lee, Deeman, Emmy, Jakes and Jimbo Dee, alongside artiste Top Banks. Hauto told the Observer that his familiarity with the creators helped him match their personalities and strengths to roles.
The project was initially intended as a single full-length film. Hauto said financial constraints led him to divide the story into two parts, with the completed first instalment introducing the characters and their conflict. Production of the second part remained ahead at the time of the interview.
The Observer describes independent distribution directly to viewers, rather than a confirmed streaming-platform deal. Hauto presented the production as a step towards creating more opportunities for local performers and expanding Jamaican storytelling beyond social-media broadcasts.
