Dominica’s Reo and Martinique’s Maurane Voyer have joined forces on Joli BB, released October 9 under the Mauve label.
An account from Reo’s team published by Dominica News Online says the collaboration followed their meeting at a festival in St Barts in July. They recorded in Guadeloupe with producer YSN, with mixing subsequently completed in Dominica.
Reo described the song as an opportunity to introduce more Martinican listeners to Dominican bouyon. His team reported on October 20 that its video had passed 100,000 YouTube views in its first week; that figure is an attributed milestone rather than a current independently measured total.
