The entertainer formerly known as Kafinal is now recording as Jef Wyllz, marking a major shift in both name and musical direction.
The Jamaican-born, Toronto-based artist is focusing on gospel music and has released a reggae interpretation of “I Speak Jesus,” bringing his Caribbean musical foundation into a faith-centered sound.
The recording features experienced Jamaican musicians, including veteran drummer Cleveland “Clevie” Browne, and reflects Wyllz’s effort to connect reggae musicianship with his new spiritual focus.
Kafinal previously won Canada’s JUNO Award for Reggae Recording of the Year in 2016. The Jef Wyllz chapter now places that established career history inside a very different artistic lane.
