Coutain and producer Tano have released Old Soul, a recording that pays tribute to Mighty Sparrow through the influence of Jean and Dinah. Soca News and Trinidad publication IzzSo both date the release to October 20, 2026.
The collaboration follows Wedding Band, which also drew inspiration from Sparrow’s catalogue. Old Soul continues the pair’s interest in connecting classic calypso with their contemporary sound as the next Trinidad Carnival season approaches.
Coutain’s release announcement acknowledged Sparrow’s continuing influence. The song offers listeners a link between the calypso recordings that helped define Trinidad and Tobago’s musical identity and a younger generation’s approach to soca.
