Sister Nancy’s landmark 1982 album “One, Two” has returned to Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart at number 10, giving the pioneering Jamaican deejay another major catalogue moment more than four decades after its original release.
The renewed attention comes as “Jamaican (Bam Bam),” a house-music reconstruction credited to producers HUGEL and SOLTO, continues moving across international charts.
The Jamaica Observer reported the track at number 10 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, number 44 on the Global 200 and number 22 on Global Excluding U.S. for the current chart period. Those rankings can change week to week.
“One, Two” includes “Bam Bam,” “Transport Connection” and its title track. Its latest chart return shows how a foundational dancehall recording can keep finding new audiences through sampling, remixes, streaming and global club culture.
