Kass Smith and Chuck Fenda have released “The Chosen Ones,” an inspirational reggae collaboration produced by veteran saxophonist Dean Fraser.
The song was released September 18 and developed around ideas of unity, personal growth, balance and conscious living. Smith served as executive producer.
The production crossed several countries: Smith began recording in Puerto Vallarta, Chuck Fenda added his part in New Jersey, the track went to Germany for review with Teacha Dee, and the project was completed in Jamaica with Fraser and Rommel Marshall.
An accompanying video expands the song’s Jamaican foundation with visual references to Latin America, Africa and other regions. The artists are also exploring plans for an international tour, though no dates have been announced.
