Duane Stephenson is billed for República do Reggae on November 28, 2026, at Wet Salvador in Bahia, Brazil. The ticketing page lists him alongside Alpha Blondy and Brazilian reggae acts Ponto de Equilíbrio and Edson Gomes. Local event listings identify Stephenson’s set as a tribute to Gregory Isaacs.
In a November 3 Jamaica Observer interview, Stephenson recalled travelling and sharing stages with Isaacs early in his career. He described the singer as generous with practical advice about the music business. He also recalled hearing Night Nurse regularly while growing up in August Town, St Andrew.
The tribute connects a Jamaican singer-songwriter with a Brazilian audience that has long followed Isaacs’ music. Stephenson’s own catalogue includes From August Town, the 2007 album produced by Dean Fraser. The Observer also reports that author Peter Price plans to launch a Portuguese edition of his Isaacs biography at the festival.
