Jamaican-American model and community advocate Camille McDonald received a proclamation from New York State Senator Kevin Parker and a citation from Congresswoman Yvette Clarke while hosting an Arit Fuller Foundation event in Brooklyn.

Known for her appearances on “America’s Next Top Model,” McDonald has also supported youth advocacy and charitable initiatives connected to Jamaica.

Speaking to the Jamaica Observer, she described the recognition as an unexpected honour and highlighted the importance of Caribbean representation and giving back.

McDonald said her recent relief work included helping distribute more than 100 care packages to women and children in Jamaica following Hurricane Melissa.

She is also scheduled to host Jamaica International Fashion Week at Island Village in Ocho Rios in November.
