VP Records has paid tribute to Lieutenant Stitchie and Mighty Sparrow following their deaths, according to a September 30 report in the Jamaica Observer.
The label recalled releasing Stitchie’s 1995 album Gangsta and praised his contribution to dancehall and gospel reggae. It also reflected on sharing parts of Sparrow’s calypso catalogue through releases and reissues.
VP Music Group chief executive Chris Chin extended condolences to their families. The tributes recognise two distinct musical journeys whose recordings remain part of Caribbean cultural life.
